Kids and their mobiles: An important read for every parent  <\/strong><\/p>\n

Kids and their Mobiles: Make no mistake, giving your child a contract phone can be like giving them a gram of cocaine.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sadly, in the UK today, many 12-17-year-olds think sexting<\/a> is perfectly ‘normal’ for their age group. It is not.<\/p>\n

Using Snapchat<\/a> and Instagram<\/a> can be just as worryingly addictive for teenagers as drugs<\/a> and alcohol<\/a>, and should be viewed by all parents as such.<\/p>\n

However, the sad fact is that screen-time is all too often overlooked by parents as a potential vehicle for addiction<\/a>. (Danger!)<\/p>\n

Kids and their Mobiles: If you give a teenager (under 18 particularly) a tablet or a mobile phone, what you are giving them amounts to a bottle of cider or a gram of coke and it can be equally as dangerous, if not checked.<\/p>\n

Are you seriously going to let your child access anything they like on the internet – on their own behind closed doors?<\/p>\n

Why do so many parents pay less attention to the dangers of handing over an unrestricted mobile<\/em> to their kids?<\/p>\n

Kids and their Mobiles: Handing over a contract mobile, without first engaging parental controls<\/a>, adult content lock, premium service restrictions and placing a monthly spend cap on the billing would be just plain foolish, not to mention irresponsible and outright bad parenting. To do so would effectively allow your child to browse the internet and see graphic pornography<\/a> – yet this is exactly what is happening.<\/p>\n

Why do some parents view uncontrolled internet access less dangerous than they do things like taking drugs or consuming alcohol when in reality they all affect the same brain impulses?<\/p>\n

How do I stop my daughter sexting?<\/p>\n

How do I apply parental controls on my child’s device?<\/p>\n

How do I prevent my child viewing pornographic images online?<\/p>\n
